Zachary:

Bio:

Zachary has been involved in sports for his entire life, he has played volleyball for 9 years both beach and indoor, he has coached volleyball for 1 year, and coached baseball previously for 2 years. He is very passionate about sports and loves the community it fosters, along with the life building skills that can be built through sports. Zachary works in the community as a Mortgage Broker for the last 8 years. He loves to volunteer at his church, play sports with friends, and be as active as possible. Zachary hopes to bring his encouraging mindset to the cougars team.

Jonah:

Bio:

Jonah is a volleyball enthusiast; he plays in multiple co-ed and men’s leagues as well as coach youth. Jonah was born and raised in Langley, where he played for Fraser Valley. After graduation, he moved to Saskatchewan and played left side for the Briercrest clippers. Due to the cold winters, Jonah moved back to BC with the hope of coaching and playing in his spare time. When Jonah is not coaching or playing volleyball, you will find him with his lovely wife Mikayla. Jonah hopes to bring his enthusiasm and volleyball experience to the Cougars, helping them reach new heights.

Practice times:

Wednesday’s 6 - 8pm - CIAC

Friday’s 4 - 6pm - CIAC

Club Fees for the season will be $1,350.00

This includes:

All team practices

Jerseys and other gear

3 Volleyball BC Tournaments

Provincials

This does not include:

Nationals

Any other tournaments the team and coaching staff would like to participate in

Fees associated with away tournaments

If returning athletes have gear they would like to bring back

They will receive a discount on club fees for the following amount:

Jersey: $47.50

Cougar Volleyball guarantees a safe and fair training environment where all coaches will treat athletes with respect. The expectation is that athletes treat each other, and all coaches, with respect as well.

Unless explicitly stated, play time will not be equal. Cougar Volleyball is a competitive club program and athletes will be awarded with more play time if they demonstrate competency in the following areas (in no particular order):

Athleticism

Ball Control

Positional Skill

Positive Attitude

Desire to Learn

Leadership

Attendance at Training

Commitment to the Team

Play time will not be decided by factors such as unsubstantiated favoritism or relationship with the coach.

If any athlete or parent has a complaint with their coach, please address it in the following manner:

1) WAIT at least 24-48 hours before any action.

2) Respectfully bring the issue forward with the coach, either in person or via email. Discuss and look to find a solution that works for both parties.

3) If conflict persists, send an email to admin@bridgeathletics.ca with the nature of the concern and the administrative team at Cougars Volleyball will look to mediate the conflict.

Tryout fee is $30.00, this is non refundable. Please ensure you can make the time before you register for tryouts.
