Carey:
Bio:
Carey has coached at Cougars volleyball for four years, winning Cougars first Bronze medal at provincials. Carey also coaches school volleyball at SRT Secondary School, last season winning the Junior Girls MRPMSS “AA” banner. He is a certified Volleyball Referee and is Development Coach trained.
Philosophy:
I believe in a positive teamwork environment, hardworking, developing skills to be better individuals on the court and in life
Gerson:
Bio:
Gerson has been a coach with Cougar Volleyball for the past four years and since the club’s inception. He is NCCP certified and a Trained Development Coach with Volleyball BC/Canada. He played recreational volleyball and soccer, and competitive tennis at university.
Philosophy:
Coaching is one way for me to give back to my community. It allows me to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst youth and encourage players to develop self-discipline and resilience in a competitive but safe environment. In addition to technique and skill development, I apply sports psychology to optimize performance, mental strength and the well-being of our athletes. My coaching values are based on three pillars: respect, commitment and safety

Club Fees for the season will be $1,350.00
This includes:
All team practices
Jerseys and other gear
3 Volleyball BC Tournaments
Provincials
This does not include:
Nationals
Any other tournaments the team and coaching staff would like to participate in
Fees associated with away tournaments
If returning athletes have gear they would like to bring back
They will receive a discount on club fees for the following amount:
Jersey: $47.50

Cougar Volleyball guarantees a safe and fair training environment where all coaches will treat athletes with respect. The expectation is that athletes treat each other, and all coaches, with respect as well.
Unless explicitly stated, play time will not be equal. Cougar Volleyball is a competitive club program and athletes will be awarded with more play time if they demonstrate competency in the following areas (in no particular order):
Athleticism
Ball Control
Positional Skill
Positive Attitude
Desire to Learn
Leadership
Attendance at Training
Commitment to the Team
Play time will not be decided by factors such as unsubstantiated favoritism or relationship with the coach.
If any athlete or parent has a complaint with their coach, please address it in the following manner:
1) WAIT at least 24-48 hours before any action.
2) Respectfully bring the issue forward with the coach, either in person or via email. Discuss and look to find a solution that works for both parties.
3) If conflict persists, send an email to admin@bridgeathletics.ca with the nature of the concern and the administrative team at Cougars Volleyball will look to mediate the conflict.

Tryout fee is $30.00, this is non refundable. Please ensure you can make the time before you register for tryouts.
Tryouts are held at the Cougar Volleyball warehouse.
