Cougar Boys Development Training Program

Format:

For male youth athletes ages 13 - 15 years old seeking a positive team experience, the Cougar Boys Development Training Program provides an environment where players can grow, compete, and have fun in a non-club setting.

Athletes will be introduced to the basic fundamental skills of volleyball and help develop their knowledge & skills of the game.

Program Highlights:

  • Skill Development: 2 Weekly sessions dedicated to building fundamental volleyball skills, led by experienced coaches.

  • Gameplay: Athletes will engage in structured gameplay each week, applying their skills in a competitive, team-oriented setting.

  • Interclub Tournaments: Players will participate in tournaments against other clubs' league teams, experiencing the excitement of tournament play. Dates TBD.

With a balanced focus on skill development, teamwork, and competition, the Cougar Boys Training Program is the perfect opportunity for young male athletes to build confidence, improve their abilities, and form lasting friendships on the court.

  • Dates: January 7, 2026 - May 6, 2026 (17 weeks)

    Our Boys Training program is designed to introduce young athletes to the sport of volleyball and strengthen their skills & knowledge of the game and prepare them for the club experience.

    Ages - 13 - 15

    • Wednesdays: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

    • Fridays:: 6:30pm-8:30pm

    Interclub Tournaments

    Tournament Dates: TBD

    As part of the Training season, athletes will have the opportunity to participate in interclub tournaments, competing against other clubs' league teams.

    These tournaments provide an exciting opportunity for players to test their skills, enjoy friendly competition with other clubs, and experience the energy and camaraderie of tournament play alongside their teammates!

  • Brendan Williams

    Brendan started coaching volleyball back in 2011, when he was an assistant coach for the Riverside Rapids Senior Boys volleyball team (his former high school where he won a Provincial Bronze🥉)

    Along with playing in indoor and grass tournaments throughout BC, Brendan has coached many different athletes over the last 15 years…. All different skill levels and different ages,

    My coaching philosophy: High level/organized sports are privileges, not rights. We’re privileged to be able to play this sport in great venues, so you owe it to yourself to give it your best effort!
