Highschool Tryout Prep Camp
Looking to make your high school team? Want to shake off the summertime rust? Hoping to do a dry run before a real tryout? The Cougar high school prep camps are the perfect place for you!
Cougar volleyball will be providing a tryout like environment for athletes of all skill levels to help prepare them for what their tryouts could look like.
What you can expect from the camps;
Lots of gameplay and the opportunity to brush up on skills
Advice from high level coaches on how to navigate tryouts, such as: how to stand out, mindset tips with how to deal with challenges / rejection and the perspective to reach your goals and make your dreams become a reality
Confidence from getting to practice before the real challenge!
Feedback from coaches on how to improve the skills you already have
This is intended to mimic a tryout setting, varying skill levels will be present. All skill levels are welcome as this is what a tryout looks like. If you are new to volleyball, understand that you could end up playing with more experienced players.
Please note that athletes can be moved between courts by coaches depending on skill level for some drills

GIRLS:
August 31st & September 2nd and 4th- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Grades 7 & 8 (13U/14U) - 5:30-7:30pm
Grades 9 - 12 (15U-18U) - 7:45-9:45pm
Minimum 12 athletes per age group must be registered for this program to run / Maximum 32 athletes per session (16 per court)
BOYS:
September 1st & 3rd - Tuesday & Thursday
Grades 7 - 12 (13U-18U) - 7:00-9:00pm

Joel comes with a diverse Coaching background with previous experience ranging from running atomic camps to Coaching for one of Canadas top collegiate programs.
Former Usport Assistant Coach with the TWU Womens Volleyball Program (6 seasons)
Highlights:
1 National Championship and 4 Canada West Championships
Former BC Summer Games and Team BC Blue Head Coach
Highlights: Cowichan summer games and Canada Cup 2018
Previous Club Experience:
-10+ Years Head Coaching at a variety of ages and levels.
-Highlights: Top 8 finishes Tier 1 Nationals at 18U (2018 and 2024)
-Best of the West Bronze 17U (2023) Silver 18U (2024)
-Provincial Silver Medalists 18U (2018 and 2024)
Most Recent Club Season:
-Division 2 Provincial Championship (15U 2025)
-Undefeated at 15U Nationals (Tier 11)

Program Costs:
Girls:
Program Cost $150 (6 hours of training)
Boys:
Program Cost $100 (4 hours of training)
Refund Policy:
There will be no refunds for those choosing to withdraw one week before camps are set to begin. We pay many costs up front, therefore please make sure you can attend before registering. All refunds are subject to a $25 administration fee.
