Tryout/ Season Prep
We are excited to once again host our Tryout/Season Prep Program. Designed to offer athletes valuable insight into key skills, abilities, and values to help them excel both on and off the court. Focusing not only on skill development, but also relationship building, inclusivity, this program has been designed to provide critical and valuable coaching feedback, while allowing the athletes to grow independently, have fun, and compete to the best of their abilities.
We are excited to have experienced Cougars and Team BC Coach, Parker Ormiston return to lead this program, along with additional coaches TBA. Drills and Games will be divided in a way that provides every athlete with the greatest opportunity for success and growth possible, while maintaining a fun, yet challenging environment. Check the program Dates and Location to see if this is a good fit for you! *This program is recommended to Advanced Players who have prior club/playing experience*

Moving into his 10th year of coaching Volleyball and returning for his 2nd season with Cougar Volleyball Club, Parker carries a tremendous amount of experience both as a player and coach. While his focal point is the growth of CVC and the Maple Ridge Volleyball community, he continues to coach across the lower-mainland and is fortunate to have coaching as his main livelihood. Philosophy:
Having a background in Applied Behaviour Analysis and as an Education Assistant, I try to bring a passionate and enthusiastic presence to my coaching. While competing and winnings plays a factor in sports, I truly value the engagement and appreciation of the sport more than anything. I firmly believe that coaching goes beyond our time spent on the court, and that it’s my goal/role as a coach and mentor, to initialize a healthy, inclusive and competitive team dynamic as a baseline to success. Every athlete will have their own path to success, and I hope that I can play a part in helping them achieve their goals.
