Our Expectations

At Cougar Volleyball our aim is to become a premier club volleyball program in the Province of BC. We aim to create an environment where athletes can Learn The Game, Love The Game, and Live The Game. We do this by creating a competitive culture where every athlete that is involved with Cougar Volleyball is developing both physically and mentally. We understand that every athlete is different and we understand and appreciate the privilege it is to interact with, coach, teach, and encourage every athlete within our program. We are aiming for something so much greater than an athletic event on a court, we want to develop every athlete as a leader that can positively impact their community in world-changing ways. This responsibility is definitely something that everyone involved with Cougar Volleyball takes seriously.

That being said, we fully understand and appreciate that the standard is set from the top down and our expectations for those involved as a board member, coach, administrator or volunteer are of the highest standard to create a culture of sustained success within Cougar Volleyball Club. As for the athletes involved with Cougar Volleyball, our expectations are equally high whether it’s at evaluations, practices, games, tournaments, or any other event put on by Cougar Volleyball or in the community. We want to represent Ridge Meadows in the best way possible and set the example for what leadership should look like.

Knowing this, we have the following expectations of everyone involved with the club:

  1. We expect to set the standard of leadership in our families, in our schools, with our friends, and in the community.

  2. We expect to show dedication to my team and provide my full attention to my team during practices, games, and any other club related event.

  3. We expect that our athletes will respect the club, club coaches, players, officials, and administrators of Cougar Volleyball Club.

  4. We expect that our athletes will respect opponents with good sportsmanship, encouragement, no taunting of any kind, and represent Cougar Volleyball Club with the highest standards.

  5. We expect that our coaches will provide on-going evaluations and feedback to enhance my development as a volleyball player and as a person and leader.

  6. We expect that absolutely NO bullying of any kind will be allowed in any form or fashion including on social media or in person and that includes while at practice, at a school event, or at a tournament or game with Cougar Volleyball Club.

  7. We expect that our athletes are to work alongside teammates to best represent Cougar Volleyball Club while at practice, games, tournaments or any other Cougar Volleyball Club or community event.

  8. We expect that every athlete and coach or volunteer will Learn The Game, Love The Game, and Live The Game.
